After building several enclosed bar cabinets, “Neat” was conceived to have all the same functionality but with a lighter, simpler, and elegant feel. Steel tube rails incorporate multi-function push bars/towel bars and can hold a handmade hemp wine sling. The walnut planked top has a Shou Sugi Ban treatment that brings out the grain and softens the overall look. Designed to show off top-shelf liquor bottles and glassware, I’ve built variations of this cart for clients that include stemware storage as well.

While not the typical industrial creation, Bolt & Hide took on the challenge of creating this extraordinary custom console. It was an important part in an overall great room restyling by the client and her interior designer. Getting the proportions just right on this media console was key to achieving perfect usability and aesthetic. Also key: perfecting the bullnose curve, steel base angles, and precise joinery to achieve a truly mid-century modern look. Custom-fabricated pulls also serve as vents to protect media equipment inside; adjustable interior shelves, sliding doors, and cabling access both between shelves and out the back all make this piece extremely functional.

This all-steel, seamlessly welded table base is a replica of the client’s original table base, scaled up in size to suit a new, larger dining room. A 3D design rendering ensured all proportions were perfect before building began. Slip-rolled sheet metal follows the base’s exact curves; the applied directional grain and dark patina also match the original. An engineered internal frame ensures the table can easily hold the gorgeous, 400-lb slab of Starphire® glass on top. Seamless welding gives this table base a modern, refined vibe that contrasts with the industrial-yet-primitive look of the anvil shape.
